Dental Implant Crown Procedure
Immediate Implants
Immediate implant is an implant placement simultaneously after tooth extraction. Having immediate implant done can allows the implantologist or oral surgeon to to reduce the number of surgical steps and procedures, resulting in shorter treatment times as well as less trauma to the patient.
Immediate implants are done for selected cases and may not be suited for all cases. Immediate implants will not be done if there is infection in the area or poor bone condition.
Conventional Implants
Most dental implant treatments are done conventionally with a period of healing or osseointegration of about 2 to 6 months for the dental implant post to fuse with the jaw bone.
The implant posts looks like a screw or cylinder that is placed into your jaw. Over the next two to six months, the implant post and the bone are allowed to bond together to form an anchor for your artificial tooth. During this time, a temporary tooth replacement option can be worn over the implant site or left with a temporary healing cap. Gums is allowed to heal for a couple of weeks following this procedure.
Finally, a replacement tooth called a crown will be created for you by your dentist and attached to a small metal post, called an abutment. After a short time, you will experience restored confidence in your smile and your ability to chew and speak.

During first stage, the dental implant posts is ebedded into jaw bone and left to heal for about 3 months or more. During second stage, the crown is built and fitted over the implant post.
